Cars in Germany's City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police stated they were contacted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Police say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then found numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report initial examinations indicate the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.

Local authorities said they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for tips.

A senior political figure said the vandalism made him without words and needed to be solved quickly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a shooter targeting people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
